Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does it cost me anything to purchase a home with a realtor?

It does not cost a buyer anything to be represented by a buyer's agent. When the home is put on the market the seller agrees to pay for the selling agent to represent them, and also agrees to pay the buyer's agent when they get an accepted offer and close on the property.

2. Why should I buy, instead of rent?

The main reason is because the home is entirely yours, and it is something you can be proud of. You are not able to say this when you are renting, and often times you are not able to change things. Owning a home can also be a great investment because you have the possibility that its value will go up through the years as you live in it. When you rent, you write the monthly check and you never see the money again.

There are so many great deals in this Holland Michigan Real Estate market, it is now the time to buy.

3. Is it important to be Pre-Approved for a mortgage?

Yes it is. Infact I always recommend being pre-approved before we even start looking for a home. You will then know what you can realistically afford, what your monthly payments would be, and we will not waste time looking at homes that do not fit your price range.

4. What are the benefits of being represented by a Realtor?

A Realtor is able to arrange property showings, assist with financing, explain forms and agreements, monitor escrow and closing, and give advice and counsel. They also negotiate for you, point out reasons not to buy, and assist in writing the offer with your best interests in mind. For a more detailed list of the services I provide please visit Holland Michigan Realtor.

5. What does the mortgage cover?

A mortgage usually covers: principal, interest, homeowners insurance, and property taxes.
