Bridgman, MI History
Bridgman started out around 1860 as a small village near a larger and more established village in Lake Township which was once known as Charlottesville – home to the largest lumber company of its time (Charlottesville Lumber Company). As the village of Bridgman grew, its territory eventually came to include that of Charlottesville. Nearly a century later in 1949, Bridgman finally became a city. Since its identification as a city it has witnessed the construction of the Donald C. Cook Nuclear Plant and various other plants and manufacturing outlets.

Schools in Bridgman offer a wide variety of sports including volleyball, weight training, aquatics, and football and are all accredited by the NCA for school improvement.
