Three Oaks, MI History
Three Oaks was once known as Chamberlain’s Siding after its first settler, Henry Chamberlain, who arrived in the area in 1850. As the settlement grew and a railroad was built, there were three oak trees which served as an important landmark for train engineers. For this reason, the name was changed when the village was officially incorporated in 1867.
